SCOTT REEDER
Scott Reeder was born in Pomona, California and has lived in Southern California his entire life. He started playing drums at age 4, jamming with his family. All of his grandparents were musicians - one set being Missionary/bible bangers that played in the church, with the other set being Atheists/jazz-loving heathens. His dad was a Bluegrass fanatic, and his dream was to perform at the Grand Ol' Opry. He also played tons of Beatles, old blues stuff, and Bob Dylan constantly. When Scott was a toddler, for Christmas, he got the Sesame Street record, and Beatles "Revolver",thus the beginning of a split-personality disorder. His first concert was Cheap Trick in '78, but the life-changer was Black Flag in '81 - Rollins' 1st show. To this day, Scott says that Chuck Dukowski is the raddest bass player he’s ever seen. The family moving to a strange town after 7th grade (in 1978) was tough, but Scott fell into the punk scene in the early 80's, and that led to his playing drums in his first band, and to his wife, Renee, who was a punk Goddess in the High School daze – “she's been beside me for over half of my life, now, encouraging me forward every step of the way.” OBE's... some natural and some induced, also had a huge influence on Scott’s spiritual growth – “being aware of the unfathomable beauty beyond this reality can cause a most painful adjustment upon return...”

OTHER BAND/TOUR EXPERIENCES:
“Performing Kyuss's "Demon Cleaner" live with Tool was a great honor. Getting to jam "Master Of Puppets" with my Northern friends was pretty fun, too, eventhough I didn't get the gig! One time, Ben Shepherd threw his bass at me in the middle of "Jesus Christ Pose" in Germany - Chris wasn't amused!
Rollins shoved the mic in my face for a whole chorus of "No Values" at a Black Flag show in '82. At age 17, I thought it couldn't get any better!”
CURRENT MUSICAL/ARTISTIC INFLUENCES:
“My Butcher family has stretched my imagination and musicianship to places I never would have been. And it's only the beginning...”
OTHER INTERESTS INCLUDE
“Horsemanship, dream incubation and lucidity, caring for the critters at the ranch, BBQin'...”FAVORITE RECORDS/BOOKS/FILMS/PLAYS/OPERAS/PHOTOGRAPHERS:
RECORD: Pink Floyd - The Wall - When I was in junior high, I'd leave the 8-Track playing in my room with "mood lighting" on while I was at school, and I'd imagine flying home and being between those headphones!
BOOK: "Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge. Opened up many doors...
FILM: Changes everyday - today, it's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
HERO: Evel Knievel talked the talk and walked the walk. Balls for days. I'll add Abby Hoffman and Jerry Rubin to that list. Question authority.FAVORITE MUSICAL EXPERIENCE:
“Hands down, it would be Bad Brains live at the Santa Monica Civic, circa '82. Complete chaos, but the best musicianship and energy of anyone out there... jaw-droppingly great.”
And as for a personal message related to the current “Butcher” project, Scott says:
Keep your head open, or die.
FORTHCOMING PROJECTS/GOALS:
To keep my head open, or die.
CAMELLA GRACE
Camella Grace was born in the mile-high altitude of Denver, Colorado. When she turned 18, she moved to Seattle, Washington to attend school. After that, she headed to New Orleans, LA where she lived for a little over a year (that’s a pretty good party!). This was followed by a couple of years in Los Angeles before she switched coasts to reside in NY, NY for the next two years. Now, she is back firmly rooted in Los Angeles.
Camella has taken voice lessons her entire life, growing up in a family that was musical. Her dad was an amateur opera singer (“He didn't sing much, but when he did, we listened”) and one of her sisters later became a classical vocalist. Camella’s early musical influences included Queen, musicals, like "South Pacific", "West Side Story", "Man of LaMancha." “My sisters and I acted out our favorite musical selections. We had parts for the entire Queen "Night at the Opera" album, with special attention to "Bohemian Rhapsody". Being the youngest, I always had minor roles in our productions, but I took them very seriously nonetheless.”
A big turning point in Camella’s life was having been given the chance to work for Timothy Leary. She had the opportunity to design visuals for his lectures with Chris Graves and Joey Cavella as a part of RetinaLogic. “Timothy Leary welcomed me into a black sheep family, and I watched him live fearlessly in his joy. Meeting my husband was another big turning point. Having a best friend in this life, I feel really lucky. He showed me true success is following your heart and not your ambition.”

”Der Rosenkavalier Dorthy Chandler 2005- Such a beautiful opera. Amazing Melodies. Incredible Art direction by Gottfried Helnwein. Very few performances make you weep, inspire you to create. My head was spinning. La Damnation of Faust Dorthy Chandler Pavillion 2004. I felt as if I were in a Surrealist Painting. Also, the first time I saw the Melvin's was totally life changing. It was in LA in the early 90's. Such a heavy, evil, mind bending performance. The Melvin's give everything they have to every show. I have been a huge fun ever since. Janes Addiction-Glenn Miller Ballroom, Boulder, Colorado 1987. They were just getting started. The hall held maybe 300 people. It was like swimming in the middle of a hurricane. Stephen Perkins was awesome.”
Forthcoming projects include writing/recording the next Butcher album, touring and working on a series of short films with Heather McMillen (formally known as Heather Borland)and Adele Mildred.
SASHA POPOVIC
Sasha Popovic was born in Sydney, Australia and grew up in Avalon, SYD, N.S.W. When he wasn’t hanging with his surfer buds, he traveled to Fiji, South Africa, Yugoslavia and America. Sasha’s musical training began with the Avalon School Band, although he attended little tutoring was mainly self taught. Early musical influences include Jimi Hendrix, Sound Garden, Kyuss and Milli Vanilli. At the age of 15 he decided to pursue a career in music, this after attending a Danzig show with Chuck Biscuits on drums. “That was all I had to see.”
Soon afterwards (still only 15), Sasha began touring Australia with the band "Peyote", who opened for "Faith No More" on their "King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime” tour. He next formed "Yung", who went on to support TOOL for a couple of shows in Sydney. In Y2K, with the ‘Funnel Web Threat’ at its peak, Sasha packed up his belongings and left Sydney, moving to Los Angeles. Soon after arriving (but not before several rounds at the local pub), he helped form BUTCHER with Camella Grace. He also joined veteran Southern California band, “Mother Tongue” in 2002, still finding time to play with his good friend Dale Crover (of The Melvins) in "ALTAMONT." More recently, Sasha played some live shows on the west coast with Southern Lord artists, “GoatSnake.”
